A fall to remember with something for everyone in the family. Kick-off November with the Will Rogers Birthday Bash, celebrating Oklahoma’s favorite son. This year marks what would have been Will’s 139th birthday, and Claremore is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Will’s movies. The party starts with the Will Rogers Day parade on Friday, November 2 starting at 3pm. The parade ends at Claremore’s Gazebo Park at the Museum of History with food trucks and games from 4pm to 6pm, and complimentary birthday cake will be served.
Saturday, November 3 offers more family fun with the Cherokee Nation’s Wings Race starting at 6:30am on the grounds of Rogers State University at the Nature Preserve. Registrations can be found at www.willrogers.com
. The Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club will hold their traditional wreath laying ceremony on November 3 at 10am at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. And on Sunday, November 4 the museum celebrates Will’s birthday by offering complimentary admission from 10am to 5pm.
More celebrations throughout Claremore such as shopping in Historic Downtown with the kick off their 1st Saturday Downtown event offering special sales by local merchants from 10am to 5:30pm. Don’t forget to stop by the J.M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum between 10am and 5pm and experience the world’s largest privately-owned gun collection and a great collection of World War I posters.
Claremore’s Veterans Day parade will be Monday, November 12 starting at 11:11am and will route from the Claremore Expo Center to downtown Claremore. Join the community in paying tribute to our men and women in the Armed Forces, for those who have served, are serving and honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Rogers State University celebrates homecoming November 12 through the 17. Cheer on RSU Hillcats as they play Northeastern State University on November 14th at 5:30pm and 7:30pm, and on Saturday, November 17th more games at 2pm and 4pm all at the Claremore Expo Center.
November 16th brings Claremore’s Dickens on the Boulevard. Starting at 6pm on the 16th and 17th in downtown, featuring food trucks, late night shopping, pictures with Santa and Tales from the Top tours of historic buildings.
Ready for the holidays? Well Claremore’s West Bend Winterland has set the official Christmas Tree Lighting for Monday, November 26. Food trucks will open at 5pm so folks can grab a bite of dinner before the ceremony commences at 6pm. Entertainment will feature RSU’s Choir and the Cherokee National Youth Choir. Lots of photo opportunities for families featuring a giant snow globe and Santa’s sleigh. Enjoy skating, compliments of the West Bend Winterland committee and sponsors.
The Claremore Expo Center will be full of excitement and family fun at the Nitro Arena Cross Nationals, November 30 and December 1. Advance tickets are available online at nitroaxtour.com or purchase at the door starting at 6pm.
Christmas celebrations start November 30 with West Bend Winterland offering fun activities for all ages.
