R.U.R. is a visionary work of science fiction written in 1921 by Czech science fiction and social commentator Karel Capek. In the play, an idealistic young woman arrives at the remote island factory of Rossum's Universal Robots on a mission to liberate the robots. Rossum's robots are so human-like, the young woman has trouble telling man from machine. Not surprisingly, things do not go as planned -- neither for her, nor for humankind. 465 - module_3535 EventDescriptionModule moduleMedium
