The German American Societyof Tulsa is pleased to announce plans for this year’s Christkindlmarkt! 2019marks the Christmas Market’s 23rd year in Tulsa. This year themarket is scheduled for December 6th (10AM - 7PM), December 7th (10AM - 5PM),and December 8th (11AM - 5PM).
This premier German tradition celebrates all things German; food, music, shopping, community,family, and so much more. Guests can dine in and enjoy all their German favorites cooked fresh; authentic Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Apfelstrudel, Goulash,Glühwein, Nuts and more. Shopping takes place both upstairs and down with over 25 local artisans and vendors offering a wide range of unique gifts, imported goods, and handmade treasures. There will be two quilts raffled during the event; handmade by GAST members. The Bethlehem village, featuring hundreds of beautiful miniatures, is returning again this year in the lower level. Children will enjoy new crafts and sweet treats. Also new this year for the children’s area is story time by Lavender’s Bleu Literacy Market; Oklahoma’s only independent children’s bookstore and literacy resource center.
The market takes place at the GAST Event Center, a beautifully restored, Gothic style cathedral built in 1929. Located in the heart of midtown Tulsa, just one block west of Lewis on 15th Street, it is a sight to behold when decorated in Christmas splendor and filled with music. The event is free and open to the public, with parking at and around the Event Center. No matter the weather, the doors are open.
